- Moore‘s law does not apply to software !
- There is a great gap between hardware and
software development :
- As processors become faster and memory becomes
cheaper, software becomes more and more bloated
and therefore slower, using up all available ressources
- For many application fields there is a lack of adequate
programming conceptions. Two examples :
- in view of complex networking functionalities
interactive computing will require new paradigms
(e.g. proactive computing including transistion from
human-supervised to human-centered model)
- years of research in artificial intelligence (AI) did not
lead to practice-relevant results
